Perhaps you have heard the story of the boiling frog. The story goes that if a frog is placed in boiling water it will jump out, but if it is placed in cold water that is slowly heated, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.
Think about this as a metaphor for us as employees and business owners/executives. From the outside, if you looked at what was going on in your company, you might say, “there is no way I would work there,” or, “I would get in there and shape them up immediately.” Yet, as we read this, we realize that many of us work in our organizations and don’t do anything to improve things…or wait until it’s too late.
What things do you see in your business that can be improved? Can you look at it with an outside view and see it differently? What are you planning on doing about it?
